Editorial Policy
Principles
- Accuracy over speed. Rates and formulas are taken from official sources.
- Plain language. We explain terms and show the arithmetic.
- Clear labels. Official figures, modelled estimates and examples are marked as such.
- Independence. Advertisers and sponsors do not influence numbers.
Research
Tax and wage data come from the IRS, state revenue departments, the Department of Labor and the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Price ranges start from published national ranges and are adjusted with the Bureau of Economic Analysis regional price parities. The full list is on our data sources page.
Updates
We review federal tax tables and state rates every January and after any law change. Each page shows its last update date (currently November 2026).
Corrections
If you find an error, email contact@doshnest.com. We fix confirmed errors quickly and update the date on the page.
Calculators
Calculators use standard published formulas. They run in your browser and give estimates for planning, not offers or advice.
